PS: what are some of your musical influences?
TP: We love all the 60’s pop music, girl bands from then. We also love new bands too like Yeah, Yeah, Yeah’s stuff like that.
PS: So you guys are from France?
TP: Paris
PS: Is this your first time playing in America?
TP: Oh no. We played last year at Coachella, which was amazing. We’ve played Pasadena, California and New York a few times.
PS: Tell me more about Coachella?
TP: It was hot. Very, very hot. It was great though.
PS: How did you guys all meet? How did starting a band come about?
TP: She [Anais] and I [Katty] were in class together in high school. We listened to the same music and we eventually decided to start a band.
PS: How many years has it been?
TP: Eh. . . 4?
(Louise wears Hermosa Super Skinnies in destructed white)
PS: You guys ever get sick of each other?
TP: No, not yet. I mean, this is the beginning [of the tour]. If we weren’t friends we wouldn’t be here.
PS: Ah, just wait till the end of the tour.
TP: [Laughter] Yes, eh fighting.
PS: So the album About Love just came out today is that right?
TP: Yes [applause]! Today it is out on the internet.
PS: Tell us a little bit about the album.
TP: We recorded only about 3 or 4 months ago here in LA, in Malibu. We had a lot of fun recording it. Most of the songs are talking about love and we had so much fun doing it. Just good vibes.
PS: What influences how you dress? You guys have good style.
TP: Aw thank you. Um, it just depends on the mood . . . .and the money. We love the 60’s stuff or the 80’s; just depends. All the emo stuff [laughter]. Just kidding.
(Katty wears Hermosa Super Skinnies in neon peach)
PS: So did you guys bring the hamburger phone on tour with you?
TP: Ha. No.
PS: Is it just one phone?
TP: No we all have one. Ha. Like 20 quid on ebay from a Chinese guy.
PS: Do you guys do any writing on tour?
TP: No we don’t have any time. Plus we’re always around people. Its hard to write with 16 people on the bus.
PS: Yeah, what’s that like?
TP: Its fun. Weird. Sleeping is difficult. I [Louise] sleep on the
top bunk. . .try not to fall off in the night.
PS: What’s the number one rule on the bus?
TP: CLEAN! And no toilet paper in the toilet. . . . and no solid. No solid [laughter].
PS: Who’s the messiest?
TP: Louise. Definitely.
PS: Who’s the funny lady in the group?
(Marine wears Hermosa Super Skinnies in a dark blue wash)
TP: We all funny! . . except Anais. She’s just always giggling.
PS: Who’s the diva?
TP: Eh. Katty. “I NEED MY HAIRSPRAY. I NEED IT NOW” [laughter].
PS: Is there a particular stop on the tour you guys are looking forward to?
TP: Here! Tonight! And New York. . . and Austin. Vegas for fun.
PS: So all of them.
PS: How long was the recording process? Did you guys meet a lot of people in LA?
TP: Only like a month and a half. We pretty much just spent time in the studio. We’re like a little family.
PS: Which city has the cutest boys?
TP: LA, they got all the tattoos. But we’d have to say London. Yeah, definitely London.
PS: Any last words?
TP: Buy our album! [laughter]
PS: Where can people get it?
TP: You can buy it on iTunes right now and it will be out in stores sometime in August.
PS: Thanks so much guys.
