Denim Tips Volume 8: Studs!Denim Tips Volume 8: Studs!

August 8, 2009

This should be a fairly easy one if you’ve got the gear ready… Simply rip up a pair of your old jeans (whether you want to bleach them out first, is your choice) and then get busy with your stud gun. You can find said stud gun and studs at your local craft store (you may wish to go with gold rather than silver, spray paint them black or pick different size studs).

  • Studs (you will need approximately 100 studs to cover one entire back pocket.)
  • Jeans
  • Stud gun
  • Glass cup

Cut the left side of the pocket, leaving the seam intact.

Place the glass under the denim, to tighten the fabric, it will be easier to add the studs. Hold the fabric while you insert the studs.

Seal every new stud you add. I suggest you use the same hole for the next stud so they don’t fall apart.

Continue adding the studs until the pocket is fully covered.
